My teacher let her friend teach the class today. He showed us how to use Ableton Live, which is a pretty damn powerful sound and music program. My teacher also asked her friend during class "Hey, you wanna go to a gay bar afterwards? There's some cool transvestites there."
He looked really confused and disturbed.

This whole post makes no sense. Further explanation is needed.

Thanks! She also said to me "Wow, nibby... of course. It only took you 2 minutes to make something completely terrifying." :D

Ableton is the devil. I have it, I hate it. I prefer Audition or Pro Tools, but I know Ableton is more for music creation with Loops. You can do that with Audition and Pro Tools just fine. Pure preference though, so I understand.
I do sound design, so Ableton doesn't have much place in my workflow however. I'm stuck in Pro Tools for most of the work. I use Reaper and Audition as well.
Do you do any audio production, or are interested in it?

I'm interested in making weird ambient sounds and things that scare others. That should be expected.
I just finished a Foley project in Audition (I like Audition, seems easy to use). There are lots of cool effects to mess around with in Ableton too. Thanks for your input!

Audition is what I learned on first, about 8 years ago. Great program, and the latest version allows for some great editing features.
Have you had a chance to work in a foley pit? A few of my projects involve taking a film clip, removing all audio from it, and starting from scratch with a mix of an effects library and foley. I'm currently doing a scene from Wreck it Ralph, but last semester I did a clip from Prometheus, and it was a great learning experience. Lots of fun when you get to work with the right people!

I was in Portland, OR. a number of years ago. Left the convention hall and decided to walk around the downtown area.
Walked into a bar and immediately knew it was a gay bar. No big deal. Ordered a beer and proceeded to talk to this nice looking woman next to me. Turned out she was a Tranny and jokingly said her dick was probably bigger than mine. Had a great time and drank at least 4 beers with the local crowd.

I never saw district 13, but that was a really good start. A few more tracks with ambience and you'd be ready to work with automation, then plugins!
